Emerging Opportunities Within the Irrigation Channel

In an ever-evolving irrigation industry, incorporating innovation, utilizing marketing strategies and building strong distributor-supplier relationships aides in increasing revenue for the IMARK member. There is more opportunity out there today than ever before as vacations are put on hold and homeowners find themselves spending their discretionary dollars on making improvements to their yards and outdoor living areas. As the weather begins to get nicer, people are spending more time outdoors and are looking to make improvements to their homes and turn their backyards into a private oasis.

 

Many IMARK Plumbing members have already invested resources into the world of indoor lighting to enhance their showroom sales. At the same time, we are seeing others who serve the irrigation industry also incorporate outdoor lighting and audio to the list of products they offer. Pathway lighting, up and down light and accent lighting for around outdoor kitchens, pool and deck areas offer tremendous opportunities for sales and margin growth. As for outdoor audio, we see the homeowners wanting to integrate their Wi-Fi and smart devices so they can easily access their favorite music or streaming services.

More and more, distributors are finding success in expanding into more than one market for increased revenue and overall margin enhancement. Establishing relationships with quality suppliers offering products and services that enhance the IMARK members’ value proposition is fundamental to building out the IMARK irrigation vertical.
